Our best-selling Vegan Apple Crumb Pie is absolutely delicious and is a wonderful dessert to serve at Thanksgiving. With this recipe you can make one large pie or 5-7 minis to serve your guests. Or, if you don't feel like baking it, you can order it from our website here!
For one large pie
Crust for 10 inch pan or 5-7 mini pie pans:
2 1/4 c almond flour
3 Tbsp arrowroot
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp maple syrup
6 Tbsp coconut oil (melted)
Preheat oven to 350. After mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl, set aside 1 cup of the mixture for the crumble on top. Press remaining crust mixture into base and sides of pie pan and bake for about ten minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cook while you prep your filling.
Filling ingredients:
7 granny smith apples (peeled, cored and chopped)
2 Tbsp coconut oil
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 c maple syrup
1 Tbsp arrowroot
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp pink salt
Place coconut oil in deep saucepan. Cook the apples with the coconut oil over medium heat.
After a minute or so, add lemon juice, maple syrup, cinnamon and pink salt. Cook for about 4-5 mins stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add arrowroot to thicken the filling of heat.
Place filling in prepared crust. Bake for 30 minutes, the add topping and cook for additional 10 minutes.
Allow to cool and enjoy, or cover and place in fridge for 2-3 days and re-heat prior to serving.
