Sweet Laurel is a whole foods baking company, meaning no filler, no weird stuff. We're so excited about opening our very first retail location, Sweet Laurel: Cake, Coffee + Tea, this September. We are passionate about bringing delicious grain-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free products to our customers and having fun while we do it.

Assistant Baker

Role:

  • Assist in producing all cakes and varieties therein
  • Keep record of inventory at all times
  • Support and contribute to production activities
  • Maintain Sweet Laurel’s quality standards in kitchen at all times and contribute to quality assurance improvements for the products and kitchen
  • Decorate cakes according to brand standards and prepare them for delivery
  • Step into role of Head Baker when needed
  • Learn about Sweet Laurel method and ingredients, and why they are used to make our baked goods

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Production experience in a relevant industry, i.e. cafe, restaurant or bakery
  • Fluent in basic computer skills, including email, excel and other inventory and task management tools
  • Excellent communication
  • Ability to flourish in a fast paced, uncertain environment
  • Extensive commercial kitchen work experience
  • Food Handlers’ certificate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of gluten free, refined sugar free and dairy free baking
  • Good organizational skills
  • Production minded
  • Culinary graduate

 

Barista

Role:

  • Engage with customers on a daily basis and maximize their customer experience
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with our customer community
  • Align with Sweet Laurel core values, and practice them daily
  • Maintain Sweet Laurel’s quality standards in front and back of house
  • Create and execute a seamless customer experience from start to finish
  • Share knowledge about Sweet Laurel method and ingredient choices with customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong references
  • Fluent in basic computer skills, including email, excel and other inventory and task management tools
  • Excellent communication
  • Ability to flourish in a fast paced, uncertain environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Barista experience
  • Knowledge of gluten free, refined sugar free and dairy free baking
  • Experience with PoS systems (i.e. Square, Toast, etc)

 

Assisting Manager

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers on a daily basis and maximize their customer experience.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with our customer community.
  • Cultivate strong barista team, encourage teamwork and integrity.
  • Maintain Sweet Laurel’s quality standards in front and back of house.
  • Create and execute a seamless customer experience from start to finish.
  • Step into role of General Manager when needed.
  • Share knowledge about Sweet Laurel method and ingredient choices with customers.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong references.
  • Fluent in computer skills.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Ability to flourish in a fast paced, uncertain environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Barista experience
  • Knowledge of gluten free, refined sugar free and dairy free baking
  • Friendly

General Manager

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers on a daily basis and maximize their customer experience.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with our customer community.
  • Build and nurture a strong barista team, providing regular feedback to C-suite.
  • Maintain Sweet Laurel’s quality standards in front and back of house.
  • Create and execute a seamless customer experience from start to finish.
  • Communicate with operations manager and kitchen staff daily, keeping inventory to date.
  • Share knowledge about Sweet Laurel method and ingredient choices with customers.
  • Maintains stability and reputation of story by ensuring compliance with all legal and health dept standards
  • Ensures store hits financial and operational budgetary targets
  • Works with kitchen to maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Responsible for ensuring conduct and adherence to employee manual

Minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years management experience.
  • Fluent in computer skills.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Ability to flourish in a fast paced, uncertain environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Barista experience
  • Knowledge of gluten free, refined sugar free and dairy free baking
  • Friendly
